You have the power to compose the life you want to live. Our bodies are the composition of the foods we eat, thoughts we think, community we choose, and environment we surround ourselves with. I created Composed Nutrition to provide a clear path to body balance through nutritional guidance. Together we can create the plan to find your balance, your way. 

When we're out of balance we feel like shit. We have no energy, our skin breaks out, we can't get out of bed, we drink the entire weekend to blow off steam (hello Sunday scaries), we exercise hard even when we're exhausted, we experience debilitating cramps + bloating. We're running off of quadruple shot venti lattes, lashing out, eating all of our meals out. We. are. stressed. out. 

And how do we even have time to do anything about it when we're juggling our nine to five plus ridiculous commute, packed social calendars, volunteering for that thing you signed up for two months ago as a "good networking opportunity" and can't get out of now, parties we feel like we "should" go to, saying yes to everything. It's exhausting.

Never mind all that stuff we're carrying around - you know the things we don't talk about a.k.a. trauma and pain - that gets pushed down until we have time to find a therapist to help us work through it all (which has been on the to do list for maybe three years). So instead we reach outside of ourselves to deal with it all. We turn to booze, relationships, scrolling on social media, food, drugs, online shopping (guilty).

It's no shocker that the foods we're eating, the toxic products we're using, the lack of sleep we're getting, and the bandaids we're using to deal with it all are all adding up leaving us with hormonal imbalances, inflammation, digestive issues, and no energy or motivation to do anything about it. Plus so much of the health information out there is confusing AF so why not just keeping doing what we're doing? 

Because you deserve better.

I believe food sets a foundation for how we live our lives.

When we get in touch with how the foods we eat make us feel, we can tap into the messages our bodies are trying to tell us. We all have nutritional non-negotiables - certain things that we must get from nourishing, real foods in order to feel energized + balanced.

I provide tools + resources to support your body, enrich your mind, engage in community, and build your environment. The recipes I share encourage you to eat more plants and to choose ingredients that build, balance, and replete your body. 

I don't like labels or restrictions when it comes to food (or anything, really). My nutrition approach focuses on eating a lot of plants, limiting dairy + gluten, incorporating healthy fats + adequate protein, and creating customizable + balanced meals.

My goal is to teach you how to choose foods that nourish your body, align exercise with your body's specific needs, support your mood naturally, cultivate a positive body image to work with your body, and live and eat intuitively + mindfully.

Composed Nutrition is the culmination of mY nutrition knowledgE, quest for naturaL home + Skincare products, evolving spiritual practices, alignment with my truth, and passion to share with others.

I specialize in food + mood, women's health, plant-based eating, and nutrition in recovery because these are all part of my story - areas that I have dug deep into in my own life to find alignment and balance.

My passion for nutrition first began when my mom was sick and looking for natural and complimentary alternatives to traditional healthcare. My mom struggled with her health from about the time I was twelve. She survived a heart transplant only to then have her life taken a year later by breast cancer. She would read and research so much about health + food + toxic-free products.  She also took her spiritual practice very seriously and I learned early on the importance of being part of a connected community with like-minded people. 

When I was sixteen, she told me, "if there's ever a class everyone needs to take it's anatomy - it's crazy how people don't know how their bodies work!"

I became fascinated with the nutrition-disease connection and switched my major to dietetics. After losing my mom I was determined to learn everything I could to help people prevent disease. I didn't want anyone to have to go through what she did - or the pain of losing someone too soon. 

I shoved a lot of the pain of losing my mom at age eighteen away and plowed on through my early 20s the way most of us do - working hard and playing harder. Alcohol became a way to not deal with the pain, even though I didn't realize that's what I was doing at the time.

I decided to quit drinking alcohol after finally having enough (where those mornings of dehydrated panic every weekend were just not working for me anymore). Something in me was telling me that there had to be another way. Removing alcohol has allowed me to see what was underneath it - stuck pain, nutritional imbalances, lack of true joy.

Anxiety has also been something I've dealt with (and alcohol was only making worse). As I cut out the alcohol, started properly supplementing, and dealing with all the stuff that comes up when you commit to your healing journey my anxiety got way better. It’s still something that comes up – it’s a way your body communicates with you. I don't think we ever 'get rid' of anxiety, but I have learned how to identify it and name it and work through it when it does come up.

I have uncovered how to sync my diet + exercise to my cycle and to listen to what my body is telling me. I have tried pretty much every variation of a plant-based diet out there and have figured out what works best for me.

I have learned through trial + error as my own personal guinea pig how to build up my body and replenish imbalances. I have seen how closely tied a complicated relationship with food and body image are to alcohol use. How all of this reaching outside of ourselves and need to control our food or bodies or unplugging with substances is really pushing away all the things that got us to this place.

Through all of this work I have learned how closely nutritional balance is tied to the things we've gone through in life.

That healing our relationship with our bodies and food goes beyond just eating food.

that our personal stories closely tie into the symptoms manifesting in the body right now.

I am a registered dietitian and certified health coach who uses a functional + integrative approach to uncover the root of body imbalances. I look to see what is causing you to feel this way and use an individualized approach to create a path to body balance, as opposed to simply addressing symptoms.

By sharing my favorite recipes, nutrition basics to understand the body, the connection between food + mood, my favorite natural makeup + skincare products, lifestyle + wellness insights, spiritual practices that keep me sane, and my story with sobriety and through my virtual coaching I hope to provide the tools for you to explore your relationship with your body.

I have made it my goal to spread 'the how' of attaining good health + healing through holistic methods combined with the latest science. Let me teach you how to cook your food, clear your mind, connect with your community, and cleanse your space.
